BIOGRAPHY – Ine Vlassaks

BIOGRAPHY

Ine Vlassaks (1984) is a Belgian artist working with painting and photography, currently living and working in Antwerp.
She studied Fine Arts at Luca School of Arts (2010-2014).

The materiality and the surface of the works are equally important as the depicted image itself. The different attributes of the used medium are explored in every work.
The trigger points for Ine Vlassaks’ work are found all around her. Inspired by architecture, interiors, wanderings through cities or nature, she starts transforming an image into painting and/or photography.

In 2016 she co-founded the duo collective DOI, in which she experiments with different media and explores the dynamics of the duo together with another visual artist (Alina Cristea), as well as expanding her organisational abilities with projects such as the DOI Creative Lab, focused on making duos out of art students in Belgium.
